Design and development work needs realistic content volume for accurate layout testing, without waiting on final copy or exposing confidential drafts. This generator builds placeholder text from four word banks - Classic Lorem Ipsum, Random English, Roman Urdu, and Blog-style Text - across your choice of paragraph count and words per paragraph, in Plain Text, HTML, or Markdown format.
Every paragraph has exactly the number of words you ask for. Apart from the fixed opening sentence of the first paragraph in Classic mode, words are drawn at random from the mode's vocabulary list, so the rest of the output is a fresh scramble every time you generate, not a repeatable, fixed passage.
Reset restores the default settings (3 paragraphs, 40 words, Classic, Plain Text) and clears the output.
Lorem Ipsum is placeholder text that traces back to a scrambled passage of Cicero's 1st-century BC essay "De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum," first used as filler text by a 16th-century typesetter and popularized in desktop publishing in the 1960s and 1970s. This generator produces placeholder text in that spirit for UI mockups, design wireframes, and any layout that needs realistic text volume before real copy is ready - Classic mode opens with the traditional "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit" sentence and fills the rest of each paragraph with randomly chosen words from the traditional vocabulary.

Best For
Input
Classic Lorem Ipsum mode, 1 paragraph, 12 words per paragraphResult
"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Quis ut mollit ea." (the four words after the opening sentence are chosen at random)The first paragraph of Classic mode always begins with the traditional opening sentence. The words after it are drawn at random from the traditional vocabulary, so they change every time you click Generate, and the word count is always exact.
Set the paragraph and word counts to match your layout's expected content length, then copy the result into Figma, Sketch, or your design tool.
Switch the output format to HTML or Markdown to get ready-formatted headings, paragraphs, and bullet lists for testing a template or CMS layout.
Use Roman Urdu mode to preview how a layout looks with that script and word-length pattern instead of English or Latin-style placeholder text.
Generate several paragraphs with headings and bullet points included to preview a document's overall shape before real content is written.
Problem
Solution
Only the opening sentence of the first paragraph is the traditional text. The remaining words are randomly sampled from the traditional vocabulary, so the output is not the standard passage and changes every time.
Problem
Solution
Blog-style Text breaks five written sentences down into individual words first, then randomly reassembles words from that pool - the result is a word scramble, not the original readable sentences.
Problem
Solution
Enabled headings insert a literal placeholder like "Heading 1," "Heading 2," and so on - they're not generated from the word banks or descriptive of the paragraph that follows.

The bullet list is a fixed set of five phrases ("Fast performance," "Clean design," "Fully customizable," "Developer friendly," "Modern UI layout") repeated after every paragraph when enabled - it isn't randomized or drawn from the word banks.
If Latin-style or English placeholder text doesn't match your audience, Roman Urdu mode gives a visually and linguistically different placeholder option.
The HTML format wraps paragraphs in <p>, headings in <h2>, and bullets in <ul><li> tags; Markdown adds ## before headings - pick whichever matches where you're pasting the result.
Since every mode randomizes word selection, clicking Generate again at the same paragraph and word-count settings produces different text without needing to change any settings.
Generated text isn't saved between visits - copy it to your clipboard or download it as a .txt file if you need to keep it.
Classic mode starts with the traditional opening sentence, but the rest of the text is randomly sampled from the traditional vocabulary rather than being the standard fixed passage.
It breaks five real sentences into individual words, then randomly reassembles them - the result reads as a scramble, not the original written sentences.
Classic mode draws from a vocabulary of about 70 words taken from the traditional Lorem Ipsum passage, not a larger or grammatically-structured body of actual Latin text.
The input fields suggest 1-20 paragraphs and 10-300 words per paragraph, but the only validation that blocks generation is a value below 1 - values above the suggested maximum aren't specifically blocked.
Included headings are a literal "Heading N" placeholder, and included bullet points are the same fixed five phrases every time - neither is drawn from the word banks or randomized.
The four modes each use their own fixed word bank - there's no option to translate output or upload a custom word list.
Both aim to fill layouts with placeholder text, but they build that text differently.

| Output formats | Plain Text, HTML, and Markdown | Varies by tool - often plain text only |
Which should you use?
Use this tool when word count control, output format, and non-Latin options matter more than reproducing the traditional passage exactly; use a classic generator if you specifically need the standard, recognizable Lorem Ipsum text.
The most common question is whether this reproduces the traditional Lorem Ipsum passage, in its familiar opening and word order. Partly - in Classic mode the first paragraph opens with the traditional "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit" sentence, but the rest is not the standard fixed passage: words are drawn at random from the traditional vocabulary, so each generation is a fresh scramble. The FAQ below covers exactly how each mode and output format works.
Partly. The first paragraph in Classic mode opens with the traditional "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit" sentence. The rest of the text is not the fixed passage: words are drawn at random from the traditional vocabulary, so every generation is a fresh scramble with exactly the word count you asked for.
Blog-style Text starts from five written sentences, but breaks them into individual words first and then randomly reassembles words from that pool - so the output is a word scramble, not the original coherent sentences.
Plain Text, HTML (wrapping paragraphs in <p>, headings in <h2>, and bullet lists in <ul><li>), and Markdown (adding ## before headings).
A fixed set of five phrases - "Fast performance," "Clean design," "Fully customizable," "Developer friendly," and "Modern UI layout" - repeated after every paragraph. It's not randomized or drawn from the word banks.
It's Roman Urdu - Urdu words transliterated into Latin script, not the Urdu (Nastaliq) script itself.
