The most common question is which markers are removed - symbols, dashes, numbers, letters and checkboxes, but only when they really are list markers, so a line like "-5 degrees" is kept. The FAQs below list the markers and explain duplicates and sorting.
Symbol bullets such as •, ◦, ▪, ■, ➤, → and ✓; dashes, asterisks, plus signs and en or em dashes followed by a space; numbered and lettered markers like 1., 1), (1), a) and (iv); and checkboxes such as [ ] and [x]. Several markers in a row, as in "- [ ] task", are all removed.
No. A dash, asterisk or number only counts as a bullet when a space follows it, so "-5 degrees", "*bold*" and "3.5 hours" are kept as typed, and a year such as 2024 at the start of a line is left alone.
With Remove duplicates on (the default), items are compared after their markers are stripped and without regard to capital letters, and the first one is kept - "Second idea" and "second idea" count as the same item. Sort alphabetically then orders what is left.
One item per line, each starting with "- ", which pastes as a Markdown or plain-text list. Use Output moves the cleaned list back into the input box if you want another pass.
